June 13-14, 2026
Hosted by the IBEW NextGen Initiative

Walking Across Canada for Mental Health Awareness
A national movement supporting mental health, union solidarity, and the power of checking in on the people around us.
Why We Walk
The Walk Across Canada is about more than distance—it is about people. Across the country, individuals face mental health challenges every day, often without the support or understanding they deserve. Our mission is to raise awareness, encourage open conversations, and remind everyone that it is okay to ask for help.
Within the trades and many hardworking industries, there is often pressure to appear tough and carry on without showing vulnerability. Unfortunately, this can leave many people feeling alone even when they are surrounded by coworkers and friends. Through this walk, we want to break that silence and remind people that support, brother/sisterhood, and community are what truly make us strong.
This journey also represents a return to the true meaning of unions—standing together, supporting one another, and looking out for every member like family. When we check in on our loved ones and coworkers, we build a stronger and healthier community for everyone.
